Manager of Campus Security
Requirements
To provide competent direction and leadership for campus safety and security measures and services for Montessori School of Denver (MSD) with an emphasis on customer service and good community relations.
Must have knowledge assessing campus vulnerabilities as well as securing perimeters.

Ability to work well with a variety of constituents (students, faculty, staff, parents, and others outside of our community) and desire to be part of a positive community.

This position reports to the Business Manager.

Description
Essential Functions:

Monitors school calendar monthly, weekly, and daily to plan for and ensure appropriate security coverage to meet the needs of the school.

Performs clerical functions incidental to security.

Develops and continuously improves policies and protocols to support emergency response and a safe school climate.

Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and safety agencies as well as other independent schools and nearby school districts. Maintains a security log of all activities and incidents occurring on School Property and communicates those to the Business Manager on a regular basis.

Conducts investigations and creates incident reports of all incidents involving the security and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors including thefts, threats, break-ins, property damage, and injuries on campus (and supervision lapses) within 24 hours of the incident.

Operates and monitors all appropriate cameras, control panels, alarms, and all related security equipment. Frequently checks fire and security systems to ensure that units are functioning properly. Must be able to troubleshoot and correct minor technical issues. In collaboration with the Business Manager, consults with and hires outside systems experts when necessary to improve, repair, or troubleshoot systems.

Serves as the primary contact / responder for campus security system providers. Responds to all alarms.

Works with the facilities director to enforce on-campus parking and driving rules and provide traffic control at high traffic times. Monitors all incoming traffic to school campus, and when applicable welcomes visitors and directs them to the appropriate areas.

Provides continuous monitoring of campus property including security inspections of all doors, windows and gates, established routes, patrols, and parking lots.

Maintains contact and is accessible to School Administrators via cellular phone, and/or 2-way radio (during both regular work hours and after hours). Serves as primary contact for Montessori School of Denver’s School’s emergency call list. (24 hours/ 7 days)

In collaboration with the Business Manager and Head of School, develops and implements appropriate crisis management plans. Works cooperatively with personnel involved in the crisis management plan in all academic arenas.

Leads training exercises regularly for students and employees.

Serves as a central resource internally and externally in response to requests related to safety and security by School Administrators, parents, and other visitors to Montessori School of Denver.

Patrols buildings, campus grounds, and parking lots on foot or in a vehicle to observe unusual behavior, prevent vandalism, and identify conditions that could result in injury or loss. Monitors and resolves actions by visitors, drivers, or employees that could cause injury or loss to school or employees.

Ensures appropriate security coverage at school public events as requested by MSD administration.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Abilities:

Working knowledge of law enforcement methods, techniques, procedures, and public safety training.

Experience as a police officer, military law enforcement, or security professional in a K-12 school environment preferred.

Ability to recognize and assess problem situations and exercise tact and judgment in bringing about their resolution.

Ability to manage critical incidents successfully.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

A positive attitude and the ability to work well as a member of a team is required.

Basic computer skills as necessary for security systems oversight.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to prepare reports and deliver oral presentations clearly and concisely.

Development Associate PT
Requirements
The Development Associate will be responsible for managing the Annual Fund and managing the database of donor information. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

-Manage and execute the Annual Fund Campaign, including the distribution of tax receipt letters in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.

-Maintain our Raisers Edge database: proficient in Raiser's Edge software; verify current information and optimize lists; increase the use of Raisers Edge/Blackbaud by adding information to each donor’s profile that tracks engagement on a variety of levels.

-Oversee MSD’s Colorado Gives Day (CGD) Campaign each year: update profile and school information; load photos; create all content for email campaigns; create video content.

-Organize donor engagement events.

-Gather information for the Annual Report.

-Contribute to the school publications by telling donors’ stories and publicizing Development events such as Colorado Gives Day.

-Pull constituent reports regularly.

-Execute all mailings including solicitations, receipts, and timely notes of appreciation.

-Attend Development Committee Meetings.

-Oversee all related expenses as it relates to the Annual
Fund.

Requirements
Montessori School of Denver (MSD), located in beautiful Colorado, is seeking experienced Montessori Lower Elementary teacher to join our 2019-2020 school year. AMS/MACTE Montessori teacher credentials are required.

Applicants must have a progressive approach to education, have strong teaching and curriculum development experience as well as at least a bachelor’s degree. Strong communication skills, the desire to work collaboratively as part of a team, and the ability to integrate curriculum across subject areas are a must as well.
