  • Colorado State Licensure in School Counseling, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, or equivalent.

  • Experience working with gifted and twice-exceptional students is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of social-emotional development in children.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to be organized, flexible, and adapt to needs of a small school where faculty members work collaboratively and fill various roles. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide counseling services to elementary students addressing academic, social, and emotional needs. 

  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a collaborative network of support for students, ensuring their academic and emotional success.

  • Develop and implement SEL programs that align with the unique needs of gifted students, promoting skills such as self-awareness, self-regulation, and interpersonal relationships.

  • Be available for crisis intervention and support, collaborating with the school's crisis response team when necessary.

  • Conduct workshops and sessions to educate parents on the social-emotional development of gifted students and strategies to support their well-being.

  • Establish connections with external agencies and professionals to provide additional resources and support for students and families.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and interventions, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
